This is what we call gut-level design.
It begins with real-life questions:
- Who lives here?
- What do they do each day?
- What are their ages?
- If it’s a couple—who is she? Who is he? Who are they together?
- Do they entertain? Pursue hobbies? Read, watch movies, or race out the door each morning?
- Do they return home seeking to relax, reset, or reconnect?
If children live in the home:
- What are their ages?
- Are they curious young learners, active teens, or recent grads returning home?
- Are they daughters, sons, or nonbinary?
- Do they need a space that’s focused, fun, or flexible?
